How AtmosAir™ Works
Airflow passes through our patented AtmosAir bipolar ionization tube. The tube energizes the air to form bipolar — positive and negative — air ions.
The airflow distributes the energized ions into all of the spaces served by the duct system in an in-duct installation, or into the applicable space if a standalone unit is used. It’s that simple and elegant! The beauty of the AtmosAir™ system is just how easily it integrates into existing commercial and residential HVAC systems.
Unlike most air purification systems, AtmosAir™ seeks out and neutralizes the contaminants at their source. This is vastly superior to most air purification methods because it works “in the space” where we work and play. AtmosAir™doesn’t wait for the pollutants to find their way into the filter within the air handler. Instead, air ions go to the contaminants in the space where you breathe, just as in nature.

How Do You Get AtmosAir™ Installed in Your Building?
We will ask you questions about your HVAC system and building and a site visit might be advised.
A recommended number of Ion Generators/sensors will be suggested for your unique space. In a commercial building, we can calculate how much outside air can be reduced per ASHRAE standards.
For real-time monitoring and control of ion output, a building management system can be integrated, but not required.
Our touchscreen AtmosAware SenseEdge IAQ monitor is also available for buildings without a BMS.

What is the maintenance on the AtmosAir system?
Very little maintenance is required.
Clean the ionization tubes 1x per year in heavy smoke situations. The lifespan on the tubes is 2 years. -
What is the cost of replacement tubes?
Tube prices vary depending on size.
The prices range from $50-$250. -
Does AtmosAir produce ozone?
No, AtmosAir does not produce ozone.
The units are UL2998 certified to not have an emittance of ozone not exceeding a concentration of 0.005 ppm, this allows the Atmos system to produce ions above 12.07 but still be safe. AtmosAir wants to produce ions at these EV’s because above 12.07 we start to ionize oxygen. By doing this we can produce super anions that last up to 300s. These anions are what directly affect microorganisms. It is unknown how needlepoint is able to affect the microorganisms because they do not ionize the oxygen which is how we render them incapable of reproducing. -
What are power requirements?
This depends on the size of the unit.
AtmosAir has sizes from small fan coils up to AHU size and range from 24v to 480v. -
Can anyone install the unit or do you need someone with certain capabilities?
No special capabilities are required.
Some sheet metal knowledge could speed things up. Our technicians or service contractors can install it. Install is very simple if the units are accessible. -
How much does the system cost
Roughly $1 per CFM installed.
Many factors can decrease or increase investment. Typically your HVAC drawing and possibly a site visit are recommended. -
What is the expected labor requirements?
Labor requirements are very minimal.
The electric can be a standard outlet, and a fan interlock, or a pressure sensor in the duct. Then mounting in the duct or the unit. -
How much time is required to replace a tube?
As quick as 5 minutes.
On the small units, it would take 5-10 minutes to replace. On a large AHU, figure maybe a half an hour. They are very simple, and a Philips head screwdriver and ¼” drive set is all you’d need. -
Are there any restrictions for where the larger 508 series units can be installed?
Wherever they will fit with your current system.
So if we can’t fit them in the unit, then we attached them to the duct.
