Piping is often overlooked in mechanical systems. End-users generally inspect only pieces of equipment, leaving piping behind and ignoring major risks that can dramatically affect performance and efficiency. In addition, when piping purchase is required, they usually go with the cheapest option, because “it’s all the same”.

But it’s not.

The reason behind poor system performance and efficiency often lays in leaks in pipes and joints. In an ideal world, brazed joints would be completely erased from HVAC systems, making installation faster and better. Current piping options in the market require complex and time-consuming installation, and even the best brands cannot reduce the risk of leaks in piping connections to a level that will give you peace-of-mind for years to come.

Reftekk piping bendable copper is the perfect solution to eliminate some of the connections in HVAC systems. Reftekk eliminates up to 75% of the brazed joints by using a bendable piping solution that also reduces labor and costs of installation, saving you time and money.

With fewer brazed connections, you protect your system from additional sources of leaks. Each fitting that you avoid saves you at least two brazed joints. In an entire system, that is a huge difference.

The Reftekk Digi-Bender bends tubing up to 190-degree angle. The tool is easy to use and allows you to make precise bends by just scrolling the control wheel until the LED display shows the desired angle. Then all you need to do is pulling the trigger and let the machine do the rest.

Reftekk Digi-Bender bends several sizes of type-L copper tubing: 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1-1/8”, and 1-3/8”, and another tool called Imperial 370-FH copper tube bender is ideal smaller sizes of tubing: 1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2”.

The Reftekk bendable copper tubing comes in the following sizes; 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1-1/8”, 1-3/8”, 1-5/8”, and 2-1/8”. All copper tubing options come standard in 19-feet length, and the ends are plugged to prevent dirt from getting into the tubes.

The tubing is capable of having a swageable connection applied to the ends to avoid having to use couplings. This means less time preparing, purging, and brazing. The swage is made with the Reftekk SwageX swaging expander, that provides the correct swage depth on the end of any bendable quality copper tubing lengths. The Reftekk swageable copper tubing uses an internal brazing ring that you insert into the end of the swaged copper tube before brazing. This method provides brazing from the inside-out, as the brazing rings sit at the bottom of the swaged joint.

The Brazing ring is comprised of approximately 15% silver, 5% Phosphorus and the rest copper. There is no flux needed with the Reftfekk Brazing Rings as the rings have Phosphorus flux built into them.

The Reftekk ACR Brazing Rings come in 3/8”, 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1-1/8”, 1-3/8”, and 1-5/8”.

Reftekk Ball Valves

Reftekk offers refrigerant ball valves with an optional EPDM insulation jacket in sizes ranging from a 1/4” to 2-1/8”. These ball valves swaged connections that accept the same brazing rings as the pipe tubing. There is a schrader valve built into the brass body of the refrigerant ball valve for easy access. The valve has a maximum working pressure of 700 psig and a working temperature range from -40F to 300F (-40C to 150C).
